Sport

Here at Belmont Primary School, we are committed to providing as many sporting opportunities as we can for all children. As part of the National Curriculum all children take part in two hours of physical activity per week. As well as having a range of lunch time and after school clubs available. You can find out more information about the after school clubs we offer on our ‘Clubs’ tab. Throughout the year Key Stage Two attend matches and competitions in our cluster of Guisborough schools. Key Stage One children attend festival days which are always lots of fun and include a range of unique experiences. As well as this, we often have visitors from different sporting backgrounds who deliver workshops.

On this page you will find a selection of photographs and other information about all of the exciting sporting experiences we have.

James Denny Visit

On Friday 24th February 2017 we had an inspiring and exciting visit from James Denny, a professional diving athlete who has represented Great Britain at the Commonwealth Games and the European Diving Championships. James and Max ran a fitness circuit with every class which was great fun! We really enjoyed encouraging each other and completing the exercises. After the fitness circuit James told us all about his journey to becoming an athlete and even demonstrated how to do a somersault! At the end of his assembly we had the opportunity to ask him questions about his career.  We have been collecting some sponsorship money for completing the fitness circuit to raise money for new sports equipment at school and to help towards GB athlete’s training.  It was very inspiring to meet a dedicated, successful athlete and the fitness circuit was great fun!
